“Persons with disabilities are at the heart of everything we do.” –The Leonard Cheshire Disability Global Alliance Constitution
Leonard Cheshire Disability – South Asia Regional Office, (Leonard Cheshire Disability - SARO) partners 36 organisations across Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. SARO works to achieve transformative change among people with disabilities enabling the community to lead a life of dignity and opportunity. We strive to achieve these goals through campaigns that focus on attitudinal change and service delivery mechanisms.
Seven Disability Resource Centres (DRC) in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka reach out to people with disabilities in remote, inaccessible areas. A DRC is a one stop centre which provides information, capacity building and learning material to people with disabilities. Some DRCs are the first of their kind as the Mansehra DRC in Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province.
